Designed by jonas pfeil for their graduate thesis from TU berlin, the descriptively named “throwable breathtaking ball camera” prototype has a single wide perspective aerial panorama impression when launched into the air. Armed with 36 2-megapixel mobile phone camera segments, the camera contains a good accelerometer that lets the actual exposurebe trigged at the calculated climax of flight, when it’s hardly moving. The taking of a single image at the same moment by multiple cameras prevents the ghosting effects that occur when creating a panorama by taking and regular sewing sequential images, along with the difficulties of taking a complete 360-degree view when you use a tripod mount.
