HOC Ergonomic Cutting Tool Concept by Cenk Aytekin is an ergonomic chopping tool designed in collaboration using the professional rescue personnel of the fire brigade in Umeå, Sweden. The actual project involved extensive research and continuous feedback from the rescue personnel. Investigation showed that existing hydraulic cutting methods are designed for industrial use – not pertaining to rescue operations. For this particular reason, they lack ease of use in very demanding rescue operations where flexibility can be key. HOC has been developed specifically for these situations, where every second counts.
