SANCTUARY Emergency Shelter Concept by Jonathan Kim is a temporary emergency shelter solution that alleviates the immediate need to offer safety and security with regard to survivors of natural disasters. It might also provide temporarily shelter regarding those made homeless by armed conflict. Sanctuary is created along with DuPont Tyvek – a material that is lightweight, moisture-repelling, resistant in order to tears and chemicals, flexible, recyclable, and resistant in order to blood and water-borne microbes. Furthermore, the shell can be made of a dual layer on this material to increase its sturdiness and insulation qualities and compensate pertaining to fluctuations in temperature. The structure will be made with a biodegradable potato starch wireframe, which in turn automatically springs to shape from its flat, compressed point out.
